Another ancient magical story, originating in very old times, describes the "Exodus" — an event that took place before the last ice age, when civilization left Earth to populate space.

Cold vastness surrounded the first explorers. But Cats knew the secret, which kept them from the fear of the unknown.

When the Age of Spreading began,
Cats went out into the darkness
not made for the living:
no up and no down,
no air,
no trees they knew.

Away from the Sun.
Away from each other.

But they were not afraid,
because they knew a secret —
the Cats' top secret,
which kept their meaning safe
in that vast, unknown,
cold darkness…

Cold gaze of eternity, the Void's hidden vibes.
I've grown my starship by genes from carbon fibers.
My fuel is the Void; my engine, a piece of art.
I'm already ready to go away.

My ship takes me into deep space, to the stars,
Away from home, past the asteroid belt and Mars.
