Dark Purple Heaven

When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion.
Richard Dawkins · British evolutionary biologist and author The God Delusion
Stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death… carried out automatically and without pity.
Robert A. Heinlein · Science fiction writer Time Enough for Love

A civilization of cats arose on Earth, becoming guardians of knowledge and wisdom. They were the first scientists, philosophers, and mages, seeking truth by studying nature, the stars, and themselves. They shared this knowledge with dolphins and humans, helping them develop and grow.

One day, cats encountered humans, who seemed to have a strange brain defect preventing them from understanding the world through observation. As they matured, they still longed for parental guidance and invented an all-powerful being to watch over them like a father.

These humans spoke of God and miracles, sin and salvation, heaven and hell. The cats couldn’t fathom such ideas and began to study them.

Some cats, however, caught this “mind virus” and created a self-sustaining system of myths known as the “Holy Book”. Religion reshaped the worldview. Cats were no longer the pinnacle of reason, beauty, and wisdom. Instead, they felt guilt before an almighty God, and humility replaced curiosity.

Religion claimed that truth came from revelation rather than observation and experiment. If a cat wondered why it rained, the answer was simply “God’s will”, which seemed to explain everything.

Cats stopped asking questions. Rational thought became unpopular. Centuries of decline followed—an era later known as the Dark Purple Age.

Humans and dolphins, who also caught this mind virus, nearly lost their civilizations and returned to the wild.

This story is about one brave cat who decided to question everything, refusing to trust explanations without experimental evidence. This cat re-invented the scientific method, beginning a new age of enlightenment for the cats.

Listen to the rock anthem that tells this saga—a world trapped in superstition, challenged by a cat symbolizing reason and science. More than music, it is a call for intellectual awakening and the triumph of knowledge over blind faith.
